Native American Journeys - Tours to the Grand Canyon, Hopi, Navajo, and Hualapai Indian Reservations
singingbear
Hello,
My name is David Singing Bear. I am a member of the Eastern Band Cherokee Nation of North Carolina. I was born to the Bear Clan, and was taught different medicines, stories and songs by my Grandparents. Over one hundred and sixty six years ago my people suffered the ordeal known as "The Trail of Tears". Many of my people died in that forced migration. The Cherokee are still here as a people as are many other Native peoples of North America. I served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971 aboard the USS Kittyhawk during the Vietnam conflict. Coming home I sought out my Elders, and learned the ways of Ceremony and a more Traditional life. I traveled extensively and lived with the Native peoples of Canada for some time. My knowledge of Native Americana is diverse; I will tell you the stories and sing you the songs of Native peoples, not just from Arizona, but from all of North America. Ride with me as I guide you to the Native American destinations of Arizona, and share the teachings and prayers of my culture, and the ways of my People.

Wadoo, [thank you in Cherokee]
